
Quality Gift Items
Seeds for Malawi offers a range of beautiful gift items created by local artists and artisans to raise money for Seeds for Malawi. One-of-a-kind dolls, evening purses and table runners; paper mache geckos; handknit children’s socks and soft toys, I-Pod cases and art prints are some examples of 2010’s creations. The annual event showcasing this special merchandise is the Fulford Christmas Craft Fair, held on Salt Spring Island the first weekend of December.
Some retail items are available throughout the year, both through the Gift Catalogue and the SOLID Exchange store in Ganges. AIDS angels, Art, Gift and In Memoriam cards, and naturally-grown local vegetable and flower seeds are generally in stock. There is a changing selection of other items .
The SOLID Exchange is Salt Spring’s local non-profit store financing projects in Africa. It has relocated to 131 Lower Ganges Rd between Calvin’s Restaurant & the Thrifty’s Flower Shop. Store hours 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Plant Sales

We offer an extensive variety of healthy, interesting ornamental plants propagated by serious gardeners on Salt Spring and Vancouver Islands. For information on our inventory, see the Plant Catalogues for Salt Spring Island and Mill Bay.
Plants are available year-round by appointment. Public Spring Plant Sales will take place as follows on April 30, 2011:
